

Kathleen was dedicated to her career as a drafter of tool design for Grumman Aerospace, the only woman in the department. She designed numerous tools, but her proudest moment was the designing of a tool that aided in the Lunar Module. Kathleen also served as President of the Board of Education of Bethpage School District. In her later years, she was instrumental in volunteering with her parish, St. Martin of Tours, fundraising for the Church and school.
For 48 years, Kathleen was married to her late husband Benito Picinic. Together they created countless cherished memories, such as participating in Bavarian Schuplatter Folk Dancing, trips to Europe, cruises, and local trips with their Sunny Lane Community. Ben and Kathleen also ran a Ceramic business, working side by side for many years.
She is survived by her brother Carl Ruff and his wife Linda; their children: Kristina Ruff-Sheridan, her husband Scott, and their daughter Ella; their son Peter Ruff, his wife Tara, and their children: Sofia and Rocco, She was preceded in death by her brother Kenneth and his wife Katherine. Kathleen is survived by their children: Kurt Ruff and daughter Zelia; Karin Linnen, her husband Daniel, and their Children: Helena and Hendrik. She is also survived by her nephew Leonardo Del Visio, his wife Noel, and their children: Sofia and Leo.
Together we mourn the loss of Kathleen Picinic, and carry on the love she had for her family and friends.
A visitation will be held at Arthur F. White Funeral Home, located at 234 Broadway, Bethpage, NY 11714, on January 8, 2026, from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
The Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Martin of Tours RC Church, 220 Central Ave, Bethpage, NY 11714, on January 9, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.
Entombment will follow at Cemetery of the Holy Rood, 111 Old Country Rd, Westbury, NY 11590, on January 9, 2026, from 11:45 am to 12:15 pm.
