Born on December 11, 1926, in Langenlonsheim, Germany, Loretta was a Holocaust survivor who came to the United States in 1949.
Loretta met her beloved husband, Josef, at a soccer game at Madison Square Garden. They shared nearly 50 years of marriage until his passing. Over the years, Loretta worked as a talented makeup artist for A&S, Gertz, Stern’s, Macy’s, and Lord & Taylor.
As her dementia progressed, her son lovingly cared for her for 30 years. Despite the challenges of her illness, Loretta remained physically healthy, using her treadmill daily until just four weeks before her passing.
Loretta is survived by her children, Monica and Mark; her grandchildren, Gregory and Amanda; and her twin daughters, Marilyn and Barbara, who were placed for adoption at birth and later reunited with their natural mother.
Family and friends may visit Arthur F. White Funeral Home in Bethpage, NY, on Tuesday, February 24, from 4:00–8:00 p.m. Interment will follow on Wednesday, February 25, at Pinelawn Memorial Park.
