Richard shared a remarkable life with all he loved.Born Richard John Misulia, 68, of Old Bethpage, NY, passed away peacefully on December 2, 2025. Born on March 28, 1957, Richard was the cherished son of Nicholas and Joan Misulia, Joan his mother, the one who instilled in him the values of love, loyalty, and family that he carried throughout his life.
40-year marriage with his beloved wife, Judy Misulia, with whom he’d been inseparable since they were just 13 and 15 years old. Their love story, built on devotion and friendship, was the foundation of a beautiful life together. A proud and loving father, Richard is survived by his daughter, Natasha Misulia (Chris Sullivan), and was the adored “Poppy” of his granddaughter Jordyn Sullivan, who brought limitless joy to his life. Richard delighted in every moment spent with Jordyn, teaching her how to high-five and showering her with affection. She was his little peanut, and their bond was immeasurable. He is also survived by his siblings Nicole Forgione, Gary Misulia, and Kathy Brodt (Jimmy); his mother-in-law Margaret LiCausi; sisters-in-law Debra Franco and Margaret Kuzma (Kevin); and brother-in-law Glenn LiCausi , all his nieces and nephews, and his beloved dog Xena Rose —all of whom held a special place in his heart.
Richard lived a life rich in passion and creativity. He enjoyed drawing and had once taken acting classes, feeding his lifelong interest in the arts. Professionally, he spent his life as a mechanic—work he truly loved. His natural talent for fixing cars brought him pride and fulfillment, and his treasured Camaro was a testament to his dedication and skill. Among his greatest joys were the family trips to Lake George, a tradition he cherished from childhood and lovingly continued with his own family. These trips became symbolic of togetherness, joy, and memories that will be forever treasured. His family will proudly continue this tradition in his honor.
Richard’s warmth, humor, and unwavering love touched all who knew him. His absence leaves a profound void, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of those who loved him. He will be sorely missed.
