

John F. Sheridan, of Town of Fenton, 87, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, January 18, 2012. He was predeceased by his wife, J. Barbara Sheridan (Babs). He is surivived by his sons, John C. and Denise, Sheridan, Jim and Judy Sheridan, Dennis and Barbara Sheridan and Tom and Jennifer Sheridan; grandchildren, John and Brenda, Jim and Sandra, Dennis, Sean, Shannon, Tommy and Clarissa; two great-grandchildren, Ian and Andrew. John proudly served in the US Army Airforce as a staff sergeant in the 311th division during WWII where he was a crew chief on C-47's. John retired after 27 years of service to Nassau County Police Department. John was a member of the Cardiac Rehab at Lourdes Hospital, the American Legion, the North Fenton Seniors, St. Francis of Assisi Church and the NYS Retired Police Assoc. The family would like to thank the staffs of Lourdes hyperbaris Chamber, Cardiac Rehab, and Susquehanna Nursing Center.
A funeral mass will be offered on Saturday, January 21, 2012 at 10:00 am at St. Francis of Assisi Church. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery with full military honors. The family will receive friends on Friday, January 20, 2012 from 4-7 pm at the Wm. R. Chase & Son Funeral Home, 737 Chenango Street, Port Dickinson, NY. in lieu of flowers, donations can be made in John's memory to the Foundation for Cardiac Rehabilitation at Lourdes, 169 Riverside Drive, Binghamton, NY
