Russell Riecke

Born June 1, 1933 in Binghamton, NY, he was a son of the late Paul and Edith Riecke.

Russ owned and operated Southern Tier Maintenance, a local roofing company for over 30 years. He worked hard all his life, but when Russ wasn’t working he enjoyed traveling cross country to visit his Sister and could always be found in his shop tinkering or fixing something. All the grandkids knew if something was broke, bring it to Grandpa’s shop.

Survivors include his children Dave Riecke (Sharon), Kathryn Piatt (Les) and Angela Riecke (Chuck Corbin); seven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and a dear friend Barbara Jensen. Russ is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his beloved wife Lillian Turoc Riecke; grandson Adam David Riecke and several brothers and sisters.

A graveside service to celebrate Russ’s life will be held on Wednesday, July 6, 2022 at 10 A.M. at Calvary Cemetery, 501 Fairview Street, Johnson City, NY 13790.

Memorial contributions in Russ’s memory may be made to St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to Shriners Hospitals for Children, 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 33607.
