Binghamton: Virgil G. Smith, 95, went home to be with his lord on Wednesday January 7, 2015. Throughout Virgil's life it was always about love for his family and service to his friends and community. He enjoyed life and shared that joy with many. Virgil was a successful businessman during his work life. He was predeceased by his wife of 65 years Wilma. His son, Dr Gary Smith, and his loving daughter-in-law, Linda; grandson Eric, and his wife Cheryl; granddaughters, Laurie and Kristen; great grandchildren, Nicholas and Jesslyn; special friends, Norm and Karen and Darleen survive him as well as numerous nieces and nephews. His parents and nine siblings predeceased him. The family will celebrate his life in a private ceremony. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Central Baptist Christian Academy, 1606 State Route 12, Binghamton, NY 13901 in his memory.
