Annabel Walker Johnson

Annabel Walker JOHNSON, age 92, of Birmingham, Alabama passed away peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, March 6, 2022. Ann was born in Dyersburg, Tennessee on April 13, 1929 to Thomas and Annabel Walker. She attended the University of Tennessee where she met her husband, R. B. Johnson. After marrying, they moved to Birmingham, Alabama. Ann was an active member of Avondale United Methodist Church. She was active in the United Methodist Women and held multiple positions through the years. Ann loved to read, travel, and watch Masterpiece Theater on PBS.

She was a loving mother of 3 and a grandmother of 5. She is preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, R. B. Johnson. She is survived by her sons, Rusty Johnson (Suzanne), and Jeffrey Johnson (Michele); daughter, Melinda Johnson Webber (David); brother, Dr. Thomas J. Walker of Gainesville, Florida; grandchildren, Lauren Webber Benson (Luke), Jennifer Webber, Ethan Webber, Summer Johnson Beacham (Connor) and Scott Johnson.

A graveside service for Annabel will be held Saturday, March 19, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Elmwood Cemetery & Mausoleum, 600 Martin Luther King Jr Dr, Birmingham, AL 35211.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations to Avondale United Methodist Church.
