

James “Jimbo” Benjamin Flemming, 65, passed away on Friday, January 22nd, 2021. He was born on March 15, 1955. He was a graduate of John Carroll High School. He attended the University of Alabama and later went on to receive his degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He was preceded in death by his parents Michael Francis and Sally Sherrill Flemming, brothers Mike and Robert Allen, sister Linda Fife, and brothers-in-law Vic Stark, Wayne Hatton, and Gary Heusser. Jimbo is survived by his loving children, Lindsey and Beau Flemming. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters Sally Stark, Molly Hatton, Peggy Heusser, Wheeler (Nancy) Flemming, Anne (Brian) Gleason, Terry (Michael) Leonelli, John Flemming, William Flemming, Andy (Justin) Flemming, K.T. (Gina) Flemming. He was a beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews. The Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday January 27th, 2021 at Saint Francis Xavier Catholic Church at 10 a.m., followed by burial at Elmwood Cemetery. Jimbo started working at his family’s business Flemming Transfer and was owner of The Upside Down Plaza. Jimbo loved being around his family. He enjoyed going on family beach trips, Grayton Beach Open golf tournaments, and watching Alabama football. He always found a special way to put a smile on your face. Jimbo will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, and outgoing personality. Life was more beautiful because he was in it. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to the John Carroll Catholic Educational Foundation.
