After his passing, Mama B focused her limitless energy on her philanthropic endeavors, including contributions and numerous scholarships for students attending Samford University, The University of Alabama, Auburn University, and Miles College. Mama B will be best remembered for the formation of the Women’s Auxiliary of the Big Oak Ranch and her dedication to the children that it helps.

Mama B will forever be remembered by her friends and family for her quick wit, kindness, and loving spirit. She took care of those around her and took her greatest pleasure from helping others succeed. She lived life with an open heart and was sure to let those around her know how she felt about them.

Mrs. B was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 36 years (Sloan Y. Bashinsky, Sr.), parents (Alex and Susie Fulghum), two sisters (Martha Cox and Alexzene Webb), one brother (Lynn Fulghum) and her daughter (Suzanne Bashinsky Ash). She is survived by her grandson Landon E. Ash, and her work family: Melanie Myers, Pauline Thomas, Carol Jones, Patricia Tucker and Brittany Scott.
