

Leigh Hill Allison passed away peacefully on July 2, 2024, at the age of 83. Leigh was preceded in death by her beloved father, Lt. Nelson Page Hill Jr., her mother, Olivia "Dolly" Hill McClung, her devoted husband of 60 years, Andrew "Jack" Allison Jr., and her daughter, Leigh "Lele" Hill Allison.
Leigh is survived by her children, Andrew Jackson Allison III (Jennifer) and Page Allison Roper (Henry); her grandchildren, Andrew “Jackson” Allison IV, Maggie Hampton Rasberry, Kathryn Crayton Rasberry, Olivia Allison Roper, and Allison Hill Roper; her brother, Dr. Ralph "Clay'' McClung Jr. (Terri); and her dear nieces, Leslie McClung Ware and Katie McClung.
The family would like to thank Catherine “Cat” Kelley, Leigh's long-time caregiver and housekeeper, for her unwavering dedication and compassion that brought immense comfort and joy to Leigh's life.
Leigh's early years were marked by her academic pursuits at National Cathedral School in Washington, D.C. and The Brook Hill School for Girls, where she was a proud member of the TKD sorority. She continued her education at Penn Hall Girls’ Preparatory School and The University of Alabama, where she was a member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority.
Leigh's passion for community involvement was evident through her active participation in numerous organizations, including the The Birmingham Botanical Gardens, Red Mountain Garden Club, Cambridge Study Club, Highland Book Club, Little Club, and the Junior League of Birmingham.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, July 12 at Elmwood Cemetery at 9:30 a.m., followed by a memorial service at 11:30 a.m. in the Chapel at Canterbury United Methodist Church. A visitation will begin at 11:00 am.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to The Hill Garden at the Birmingham Botanical Gardens (2612 Layne Park Rd., Birmingham, AL 35223), the Callahan Eye Hospital (700 S. 18th Street, Suite 601, Birmingham, AL 35294), or a charity of your choice.
