

Born in Birmingham, November 29, 1925 to Felix & Rachel (Sarasohn) Shevinsky. Her mother died when Margy was just 3 years old. After that, with her father and older brother Harold Shevin, they moved in with her maternal grandparents known as Bubbe and Zayde Sarasohn until she attended college.
She attended Lakeview Grammar School & Ramsay High School in Birmingham, and the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa.
She was married to the love of her life, Albert Rosenbaum of blessed memory in 1946 until his death in 2010. They had three children who survive her: Herb (Barbara Coburn), Robbie, Linda Rosenbaum (Karl Schnittke of blessed memory); five grandchildren Ben (Danielle and Great Grandson Eli), Greg (Rachel); Perry (Drae McKenzie), Max and Sallie Rosenbaum.
She worked with her husband in his store Fix-Play from 1952 until they closed their doors in 1998.
She traveled with her husband as his navigator in his antique Rolls Royce automobiles in the Great American Race crisscrossing the country six times. They also drove to 48 states and Canada.
She volunteered at her beloved Temple Beth-El’s Sisterhood, Collat Jewish Family Services, she was active in Hadassah, knitting for cancer patients and also volunteered at St. Vincent’s Hospital.
She and her husband helped establish the Jolly Geriatrics reunion group for his Little Rock Central High School classmates.
She was a breast cancer survivor and she made the best mandel bread in town.
Her mother and grandparents were born in Jerusalem and she was proud to have met David Ben Gurion, the first Prime Minister of Israel on a visit there.
A graveside for Margery will be held Sunday, March 19, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Elmwood Cemetery & Mausoleum, 600 Martin Luther King Jr Dr, Birmingham, AL 35211.
