August 6, 1938. He played clarinet and saxophone his teenage years. Upon graduating from Roosevelt High School, he joined the Air Force and served in Germany from 1957-1960. Using his GI Bill, he attended Dutchess Community College where he met his beautiful wife, Joan. He completed his education at the University of New York- Albany with a degree in Accounting and earned his CPA. Marty and Joan had two children (Martin and Teresa) and then moved the family to Birmingham, Alabama in 1978. Marty spent the majority of his career as an accountant and comptroller for various car dealerships, most notably Jim Burke Automotive. Marty also owned a few small businesses working nights and weekends to make them successful. He was very active in his church and was twice Grand Knight, Knights of Columbus, and Treasurer at St Peters in Hoover. Departing before Marty include his mother, father, brother Lou, sister Marie, and, sadly, wife Joan. He is survived by his children and brother Frank. He loved hunting and camping, and was an avid war history buff. He was a doting grandfather of four for Jackson, Jonah, Shidela, and Zoey. He was also a proud papa to his terriers, particularly his loyal Scottish Terrier. He will forever be in the hearts of his friends and family- but we know that he is now walking hand-in-hand on the beaches of Jamaica with his loving wife Joan. There will be a Memorial Mass at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Hoover on Monday, March 31, 2025 at 6:00 PM. 2061 Patton Chapel Road Hoover, Alabama 35216.
