Robert Marshall Staples, 73, passed away in his home on Friday, September 10, 2021. He is preceded in death by his parents, CeOttis Staples and Marshall Anderson Staples, Jr., and a sister Marcia Staples.
Born in Richmond VA he has spent the past 40 years in Birmingham with his loving wife, Terri, and three children, Melinda Douglas (David) of Bessemer, AL, William Chase-Anders Staples of Panama City, FL, and Thaddeus Earl Phillips of Salina, KS, and a sister Karen Dayberry (Colorado Springs, CO). He was the proud Poppop of 12 grandchildren: Colin, Aidan, Sean, Merranda, Randall, Dallas, Ana, Autumn, Rowan, Emma, Austin, and Marshall. He was known as Mr. Spanky by his numerous friends and colleagues.
A Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held Saturday, September 18, from 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm at Southside Baptist Church in Birmingham.
