

Thomas John Belina, aged 58, of Daphne, Alabama passed away peacefully at UAB hospital on May 19, 2024 with his wife, Karen, holding his hand. Tom was born in California but called Daphne home. He is the son of the late John Leo Belina and Maxine Joan Belina. Tom attended Montgomery Catholic High School and went on to earn a Bachelors of Electrical Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology.
Tom started a custom packaging and design manufacturing company, Eico, Inc., in Mobile, AL in 1994 and continued to pursue innovative product design and development opportunities over the years.
Tom was an avid charcoal grill master and enjoyed learning new cooking techniques and recipes. He could fix most anything mechanical or electrical- cars, lawnmowers and any household appliance. His children grew up with window seats and bookshelves in their rooms and a pergola outside to enjoy summer nights - all designed and built by Tom. Most every room in the house has something designed and built by Tom.
Tom loved living on the Gulf Coast and sunsets over the bay. He was passionate about flying and aviation. He earned his private pilots license in the early 2000s and hoped to resume flying in the future. Tom was an avid reader, consuming books of all types and always enjoyed lively discussions about a large variety of topics.
Tom and Karen met when they were freshmen in high school and became good friends. This relationship grew over the years into love and they had been married close to 33 years. Tom often remarked how happy he was that he and Karen had ended up together. They were blessed with three wonderful children. Tom loved his family deeply and was very proud of all his children.
He was preceded in death by his father, John Leo Belina, mother, Maxine Joan Belina, and sister, Judi Lund. Tom is survived by his wife, Karen, and their children, Jonathan Scott Belina of Daphne, AL, Katherine Belina (Dylan) Green of Colorado Springs, CO, Thomas Patrick Belina of Daphne, AL and his brother, Scott (Kelly) Belina of Burnsville, MN. His extended family including nieces, nephews, in laws and cousins along with dear friends cherish his memory and friend.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Tom J. Belina's honor to The Exceptional Foundation of the Gulf Coast. The Memorial Service will be August 10, 2024 at 1pm at Five Rivers Resource Center in the Delta Hall located on the Causeway in Mobile, AL."
