

Funeral services will be conducted by the Zarro Funeral Home, (www.zarrofuneralhome.net), 145 Harrison Street, Bloomfield. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, December 14th from 9-11a.m. at the funeral home followed by a Memorial Mass at Holy Family Church, Nutley at 11:30am.
Joy is survived by her husband Vincent Immerso; Brothers, John and Robert Giordano; Sister, Barbara Giordano-Picinich and her husband John Boy; Nieces and Nephews, but especially her beloved niece Colleen and nephews Michael and Matty; and a inner circle of friends from childhood and school.
Joy also had a special chosen sister of 44 years, her beloved Michele Di Bella- Updegrove. They were 2 sides to the same coin and each-others shodow. They were sisters for life along with Michele’s husband Billy her chosen brother. Joy was a retired high school English teacher for the Newark Board of Education for 25 years. She also served as Senior Class Advisor for several years. She formed many lasting relationships guiding and counselling them throughout their journey through life. She was very proud of her LeeSandra.
Joy loved to travel abroad but she was a Jersey Girl at heart. From her roots in Belleville to her last 15 years at the Jersey Shore. She loved the boardwalk and her trips with Vinnie to Monmouth Park Racetrack.
