Maria Salvatore, of Montclair, NJ, born in Italy is one of seven children of the late Gerardo and Maria Nicola Salvatore, and formerly of Las Vegas, Nevada and Bloomfield, NJ, recently has passed away. Private arrangements were from the Zarro Funeral Home, www.zarrofuneralhome.net). 145 Harrison Street, Bloomfield, NJ. She is survived by five siblings; Antoinette Larderi, Angelo Salvatore, Elisa Gallucci, Connie Iannuzzelli, and Ralph Salvatore; and her many loving nieces and nephews. Her brother Gulio Salvatore predeceases her. As she requested, her remains were cremated and no services were held.
On a faded piece of paper written some time back we found the following written by someone named Peter: “To the critics who whine despair, she says ‘how depressing’; and sits and speaks of wonderful things – that we are not alone; and the air is full of celestial tidings; where Maria goes there goes a grace that no cynic clinging tenaciously to despair, can ever know.”
Maria left the following to be part of her obituary: “We lived before, we loved before, made promise to the stars we’d meet again, until the end, so here we are a thousand years have gone by, yet here we are, you and I; face to face, yet one soul, as we pass by for the thousandth time.” Meanwhile Ria, rest in the sweetest peace, continue on your journey to the stars. Amore, until we meet again.
