

Phyllis dedicated her life to her family loving them unconditionally. Her beautiful smile was contagious and it lit up the room. She was an amazing cook and baker always making everyone their favorite meals. She is remembered as a woman who always put her family first before herself. She loved her family, her puppy Lucky, friends and customers with all her heart. She will be truly missed by all her loved ones.
Phyllis was a hairdresser at Shear Honesty before being a co-owner of Carmen’s Bakery in Union. She was a member of St. Gerard’s Women’s Guild of St. Lucy’s Church.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, June 2nd 5-9pm. Funeral services will be conducted by the Zarro Funeral Home, (www.zarrofuneral home.net), 145 Harrison Street, Bloomfield, on Wednesday, June 3rd at 9:00am followed by a Mass of Cristian Burial at 10:30am at St. Lucy’s Church, Newark. The burial is at Holy Cross Cemetery, N. Arlington.
Phyllis is survived by her loving, husband, Robert Romano; mother, Gerardina Capossela; son, Michael Romano; daughter, Alexis and her fiancé, Michael Vigil; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her father, Pellegrino Capossela; grandmother, Maddelena Ricci; aunt Maria Ricci and uncle Biagio Ricci.
