I wasn't able to stand and speak on ur behalf. But here I am a year later. It eats me because I still have the last letter you wrote me in my memory box. I stress everyday because I chose a job over my brother. I was so busy I never had the time. I remember us getting into fights as kids and also remember u fighting for me as an adult. Although ur mom and my dad were just married and we weren't blood. Blood couldn't make us any closer. You were always rite there when I needed you. It's crazy sometimes I didn't even know how u found my address. Never hid it from u, but u would always pop up out of no where. My firstborn. You started everything. 14 and with a baby. But you made me grow up real quick. It was me and you against the world. I better myself for you and your siblings. I am glad I got a chance to tell you I love you and how proud I was that you took the first steps and bettering your life. I told you that you might fall off but as long as you get back up and do it for yourself you will succeed. Son, you had so much more to give in this life and we were robbed of your life. I love and miss you Dartel. You were really my favorite big cousin. There's no way I'd ever wake up at 1 in the morning to ride with my mom to compton station to pick up anybody else. I really just saw you recently at granny's house and you looked so good and healthy. I was so happy to see you doing so well. I'm sorry they took that from you. You said, "nana you so beautiful you got a boyfriend ?!" I said no and Dartel said, "good, you don't need one. stay in school" 😂😂😂😂 You were so funny. That was the best advice I'd gotten all year and as you said, i'll be staying single and in school. I miss you. I'm sad I won't be able to laugh at and with you again. You'll always be my mom's "son" and my "brother", in our hearts forever.  i love you

I remember anytime I was hanging out at grandma's and you were around you would come over and always ask how we were and talk to us and joke around. You would always be in a good mood. Whenever I saw you were just happy to be around family 💕.

I remember when we was young u use to stay coming to momma house showing me your songs then after u will explain it to me use to talk fast so I hardly understand what u was saying half the time but always use to try to listen on r last call you told me how things will be different its gone take some time told me never give up on myself and do it for my kids ill always miss you randomly checking up on me making sure i was good love you big bro save a spot for me Rest Up #ForeverMyBrother #ForeverMyAce 

I’ve learned that God only loans us our loved ones. It hurts me to even write this . You had a whole life ahead of you and now you’re gone . I’m happy we got to see each-other recently and had our talk and took pictures. Believe me I’ll keep every memory of us alive. It’s times I say I feel your present but then again I’m unsure. I remember when we were in the kitchen on Thanksgiving. You were grabbing some Hawaiian Rolls and at the time, I had never had one before. I asked you what they were and you told me what it was. You said, “I would let you try one now, but they are way better when they’re baked in the oven! I’m gonna make you one.” So you baked me a Hawaiian Roll in the oven and it was really good! Every time I see a Hawaiian Roll I think of that day and how you introduced me to them. I love you cousin. Rest peacefully, until we meet again. 🙏🏾❤️

Dartel was my only older cousin less than a year apart. Literally since I can remember he always had such a big heart, he cared so much about his family and friends. His contagious laugh was one of a kind he actually had me beat with how fast he could talk which would make me laugh harder. I remember when you actually hit me when we was play fighting hahaha, it hurt like hell, I was done after that or that one time you had cut ya big toe nail and dust or w.e came up we all was laughing so hard. Growing up I could go to you and tell you my secrets and vice versa. Never hearing your voice yelling "Pookie" or asking me "how I been" I can't wrap my mind around that .  You never judged me or made me feel bad and if I in anyway ever made you feel a certain way, I apologize I just always wanted the best for you Dartel. I know you're in a better place watching over us thank you for all the memories. I'ma really miss you just knowing you're not here is too much to bare but we will see each other again... I love you Always and Forever
