

Born on June 26, 1937, in San Bernardino to Severo Reyes and Juanita Gallardo Reyes, he grew up in the community he loved and graduated from San Bernardino High School. In 1963, he married Gloria Aguirre, and together they built a life rooted in faith, family, and service. They lived in San Bernardino until moving to Topeka, Kansas, in 1992.
Severo is survived by his two daughters, Diane (Jeff) Linn and Linda (Loren) Brandt; six grandchildren, Cassandra (Anthony) Navarro, Ian (Katie) Brandt, Ashley Linn, Stephanie Linn, Lane Brandt, and Zack Brandt; several great‑grandchildren; and many extended family members and friends who loved him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Gloria Reyes; his parents; his maternal grandparents, Monico Gallardo and Romana Flores Gallardo; his father‑in‑law Guadalupe Aguirre and mother‑in‑law Margaret Aguirre; and his siblings Juanita, Feliciana, Isabel, Ramona, Bertha, and Victor.
Severo worked as a machinist for the Burlington Northern and Santa Fe Railway, retiring on May 31, 2002, in Topeka KS. A proud Army veteran, he faithfully served and protected his country. His dedication to Christ shaped his life, and he shared his faith generously, preaching the gospel to all who were willing to listen.
He was an exceptional father, brother, uncle, grandfather, coach, mentor, and friend. Severo had a lifelong love of sports—baseball, softball, basketball, bowling, pickleball, handball, racquetball, horseshoes, shuffleboard, and ping pong—and earned numerous awards throughout the years for his talent and passion.
Services will be held on February 21st at Green Acres Memorial Park, 11715 Cedar Ave., Bloomington, CA 92316.
Viewing will begin at 10:00 a.m., followed by the service from 11:00–11:30 a.m. Military funeral honors will follow.
A reception will take place the same day at 12:30 p.m. at the American Legion, 1401 Veterans Way, Colton, CA 92324.
