Shirley Jean Fernandes

Shirley Jean Fernandes, age 81 of Kettering, Ohio, formerly Fontana, California, passed away Monday, June 5, 2023 at Fairmont Senior Living Community of Washington Township. She was born July 5, 1941 in Fontana, California, the daughter of the late August and Victoria Dalla Rosa.

Shirley loved the outdoors - fishing, camping, riding dirt bikes. She also enjoyed reading and traveling, and was able to visit Japan several times over the years. Most importantly, Shirley loved spending time with her family.

Shirley is survived by her sons, Mark (Marie) Fernandes, Steven (Yumiko) Fernandes; step-children, Robert (Michelle) Fernandes, Lisa (Harlan) Duden, Linda Brents; grandchildren, Michael (Ashley), Matthew (Lauren), Jessica (Matthew), Shawn, Alicia, Julia, Mia, Hunter, Eli, Robert, Chrissy, Sherry, Harlan, Melissa, and Kimberly; as well as numerous great grandchildren and many loving extended relatives.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Fernandes; sister, Patricia Cross; and step-son-in-law, Michael Brents.

A visitation for Shirley will be held Monday, July 3, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Green Acres Mortuary, 11715 Cedar Ave., Bloomington, CA 92316. Following the visitation will be a committal service from 2:30 PM to 3:00 PM at Green Acres Memorial Park, 11715 Cedar Ave., Bloomington, CA 92316.
