She is survived by her husband Jerry Bustamante of 39 years, also a former U.C. Riverside (Physical Plant) employee of 32 years. Also survived by sons, Michael, Robert “Bobby”, Anthony, and daughter Graciela “Grace”. Grandchildren: Nicholas “Nico” 16, Esmie 10, Layla 8, Xavier 10, Elixah 8, Lola 4, and 2 year old Iliana (our antidepressant).
Her sister is Dorothy Wolfinbarger and brother Michael Sandoval, sister-in-law Ramona Sandoval, and many other nephews and nieces.
Virginia served at the University of California Riverside where she worked for 37 years. In 1981 she became a part of the Graduate Division where she served for 30 years under six deans. Virginia was the primary support for the Graduate Council and Academic Senate. She was well known and loved on campus.
A viewing will be held at 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a rosary at 7 p.m. at Green Acres Mortuary, 11715 Cedar Ave. Bloomington, CA.
