Surviving are his wife Danielle (Stewart) Wright, Clinton, son Clint (Caitlin) Wright, Bloomington, daughter Devon (Joseph) Fenton, Clinton, son Joseph (Jasmin) Wright, Bloomington, stepdaughter Jericha Roberson, Normal, stepson Tyler Hawkins, Jacksonville, his mother Patricia (Lord) Wright, Normal, and sister Tiffany Janssen-Scott, Alton. He also leaves behind two granddaughters, one grandson, and his beloved furry companions, Mr. Butters and Zephyr.
He is preceded in death by his father, Eldon "Lee" Wright.
Conley had a love of two things from an early age: trains and fast cars. His love for trains culminated in a long career with Norfolk Southern, beginning as a conductor and switchman, later on, locomotive engineer, and finally being promoted to Road Foreman of Engines, a post from which he retired in 2020.
His love of all things Mopar turned into a lifelong passion as well. He formed the Heartland Mopar Club, which later on inspired many other car clubs throughout Central illinois. Conley gained notoriety for his expansive knowledge base and collection of car parts and muscle cars and trucks of all varieties.
Other areas of interest included nature, travel, photography, and most of all his cats. Above all, he was known for his soft-spoken humor and sharp wit, and a sense of humor that was unmatched. His reputation for crazy adventures and quirky exploits was well-earned.
Conley was a great friend, a dedicated husband, and an excellent father, grandfather and Cat dad, and will be greatly missed.
