Edna Mae Williams

She was born October 27, 1926 in Saybrook to Joseph William and Pearl Estelle (Lehman) Zimmerman. On March 11, 1950 she married Russell C. Williams in Saybrook.

Edna graduated from Saybrook Community High School and Illinois State University with her Bachelors of Science in Education. She had taught at Mansfield High School for four years and worked for Industrial Casualty Insurance Company for 10 years. She then taught 6th grade at Ellsworth and was a librarian at Downs until her retirement in 1979. Edna was a member of Saybrook Wesbein United Methodist Church, Twin City Homemakers Extension and Illinois Retired Teachers Association.

Survivors include her husband of almost 64years: Russell of Bloomington; sisters: Martha Zimmerman of Colfax, Lorene Wilson of Saybrook, Mildred Wills of Colfax; brother-in-law: Oliver Williams of Fischer; and many nieces and nephews; grand nieces and nephews; and great grand nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers: Emmett and Paul Zimmerman.

Funeral Service will be Friday January 10, 2014 at 11am with visitation one hour prior at East Lawn Funeral Home, 1102 Airport Rd. Bloomington, IL. Entombment will be at East Lawn Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Keith Zimmerman will officiate.
