Elizabeth "Betty" Hanover Wyant

Betty was born August 30, 1919 the daughter of Robert and Caroline Wetzel Burris. She married Earle H. Hanover September 28, 1938; he preceded her in death November 16, 1963. She later married Verne Wyant August 1, 1970; he preceded her in death in July 1979.

Surviving are her daughter, Delores "Dee" (Norman) Richard, Normal, and a daughter in law Sandy Hanover, Carlock; four grandchildren, Brian (Lisa) Richard, Bloomington, Karen (Jim) Rettick), Bloomington, Kathy (Al) Whitlow, Normal, and Jennifer (Tim) Dawson, Stanford; nine great-grandchildren, Matthew (Jackie) Rettick, Washington, Sara Rettick, Bloomington, Sierra Hanover, Bloomington, Julian Whitlow, Normal, Megan, Heather, Rachel and Anna Dawson, all of Stanford.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Harold, Floyd, and Robert Burris, Jr.; a son, Frank B. Hanover, and a daughter, Twyla Hanover Johnson.

Memorial services for Betty will be held at 12pm Saturday March 2, 2013 at East Lawn Funeral Home, Bloomington. The Rev. Adam Wilson and Rev. Cal Gowen will officiate. Memorial visitation will be the hour prior at the funeral home. Inurnment will follow services at East Lawn Memorial Gardens, Bloomington.

Betty was employed in Unit 5 Schools and at Octavia Manor in Colfax. She was a longtime, and oldest, member of First Baptist Church of Towanda. She enjoyed reading, eating out, and especially her candy. Going to the Normal Senior Center and the Towanda Senior's were also favorite pastimes.
