Visitation will be at East Lawn Funeral Home, Bloomington IL from 1-2 pm on Tuesday, March 9. Masks are required. Graveside service will follow at 2 pm. Pastor Christiansen of St. John’s Lutheran Church will officiate.
Glenn was born March 21, 1940 in Princeton IL, the son of Milo and Ruth Stutzman Marquis. His mom survives. Glenn married Ilene Harper on June 10, 1995. She survives.
Also surviving are four children, Diana (Danny) Davis, Roanoke IL; Debbie (Steve) Campbell, Highland, IL; Ruth Ann (John) Sokol, Whitehouse, TX and John (Shelley) Marquis, Stanford IL; one stepson, Brent (Necole) Harper, Chandler AZ. Glenn also had 7 grandchildren (Leigh Miller, Paul Davis, Tyler Holland, Katy Sokol, Morgan, Mason and McKale Marquis), 4 step-grandchildren (Madison, Alexis, Isabella and Taylor Harper), 5 great grandchildren and two brothers, Duane (Marilyn) Marquis, Towanda IL and James Marquis, Normal IL.
He was proceeded in death by his father and one stepson (Scott Harper).
Glenn graduated from Normal Community High School in 1958. He was employed in the agriculture industry in Central Illinois for many years. He retired in 2012.
Glenn was a loving son, husband, father, brother and grandfather. He was kind, patient and always willing to help others. He enjoyed the outdoors (especially fishing) and spending time with family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Central Illinois Down Syndrome Organization (CIDSO), PO Box 595, Normal IL 61761 or to the memorial of the donor’s choice.
