Harold Grover Brewer

Harold was born on July 13, 1927, in Bloomington, the son of Harry and Edythe Smock Brewer. He married Mary Francis Brewer on November 18, 1949 at Hudson United Methodist Church. She survives.

Also surviving are his two children; Rick (Donna) Brewer of Delavan, and Cheryl Brewer of Normal; two grandchildren, Jeremiah Brewer of Delavan and Jessica (Jeremy) Robertson of Westminister, CO; a brother, Dr. Benjamin (Kim) Brewer of Gibson City; a step-mother, Judith Brewer of Normal; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard and William Brewer.

Harold served in the Navy during WWII in the South Pacific. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing and hunting. He also enjoyed wood carving, and target shooting. He was a member of the Bloomington American Legion, the Bloomington VFW, and the NRA. He was a life-long member of the Hudson United Methodist Church.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 13, 2016 at East Lawn Funeral Home, in Bloomington. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Military honors will be conducted at the funeral home prior to the service. Burial will be at Hudson Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hudson United Methodist Church or the Bloomington Rehabilitation and Health Care Center.
