Harry W Green

Harry was born January 29, 1920 in Minonk to Elvin and Mary Kuchma Green. He married Louise Reese February 17, 1942. She preceded him in death in on April 30, 2007.

Surviving are 3 children, Gerry (Bernie) Green, Bloomington, Jeff (Cheryl) Green, Cleveland, OH, and Gary (Kathy) Green, Kenosha, WI; 7 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his siblings, Bobby, Harvey, Melvin, Betty, and Rita.

Harry served his country during World War II in the 327th Glider Infantry, which was attached to 101st Airborne Division. He served in the Normandy, Ardennes, Rhineland, and Central Europe Theaters. He was awarded 4 Bronze Stars, and was a past post commander of American Legion Post 142 in Minonk.

Graveside services will be held at 3pm Monday, October 29, 2012 at Minonk Township Cemetery, Minonk. Celebration of Harry’s life will be held at 4:30pm at Good Samaritan Nursing Home, Flanagan. Cremation arrangements are in the care of East Lawn Funeral Home, Bloomington.
