Jacquelyn J Barker

She was born August 24, 1936, in Bernadotte Township, on her grandparent’s farm, to Dale and Harriett (Dean) Pigg.

Survivors include her two daughters, Terri (Brad) Thede of Normal, and RuthAnn (Mike) Petrov of Morton; her brother, Charlie Pigg of Morton; nine grandchildren, Kyle, Eric, and Sara Thede; and Max, Gage, Malachi, and Grace Petrov, two foster grandchildren; and several cousins.

Jacki was a 1954 graduate of Canton Senior High School and then attended business school in Omaha, NE. She worked at Western Union and State Farm Insurance before the birth of her children. She grew up as a member of South Park Methodist Church in Canton. She was an active member of the Leroy Christian Church for many years and later attended Living Hope Christian Church in Downs. She deeply loved her family and was particularly proud of her grandchildren.

Jacki was married to Gene Barker for 36 years and he preceded her in death.

A visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at East Lawn Funeral Home, Bloomington, with a graveside service on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at White Chapel Memory Gardens in Canton. Pastor Brent Salm will officiate. Cremation rites have been accorded. Online condolences may be shared with the family at eastlawn-bloomington.com.
