James L. Joslin
James L. Joslin, 80, of Bloomington passed away September 18, 2022. He was born October 13, 1941 in Hartington, NE to Lawrence and Cecelia (Koch) Joslin and married the love of his life, Janet Mindrup, on June 14, 1964. She survives.
Also surviving are children -- Jordan (Emily) Joslin of Normal, IL; Jodi (Greg) Hoffman of Athens, IL; grandchildren -- Max Hoffman, Owen Joslin, Ava Joslin, Logan Hoffman, Eli Joslin; siblings -- Virginia Barlow of Spencer, IA; Marvallee Fink of Sidney, MT; Gloria Kellerman of Lincoln, NE; Lyle (Sharalynn) Joslin of Blair, NE; and sister-in-law – Linda Joslin. He is preceded in death by his parents -- Lawrence and Cecelia Joslin; siblings – Dale and Eddie Joslin; and brothers-in-law – Cecil Barlow, William Fink, and Maynard Kellerman.
James was a loving husband, father, and family man who valued his faith, kindness, and humor. As a high school teacher and coach in Exira, IA he was both respected and liked by faculty and students. While working as an insurance adjustor and living in Monmouth, IL, he valued his friendships with his co-workers and members of First Christian Church. Later in life as his family grew he became "grandpa" to his grandkids and friend to his kids. Over the years many have known him as brother, husband, dad, uncle, grandpa, teacher, coach, friend, and co-worker, but all have known him as lighthearted, kind, and caring. Through his faith in Jesus he shared the grace and love that guided his soul. His legacy lives on though his family and friends as a man who cared for all of those around him.
Cremation rites have been accorded with East Lawn Funeral Home, Bloomington. No services are planned at this time. Private inurnment will be held at East Lawn Memorial Gardens, Bloomington.
