James Alan Oliver, age 67 yrs old, passed away peacefully at Carle BroMenn Medical Center in Normal, IL on March 20th, 2024 of respiratory failure under the care of Carle Hospice. He was an organ donor.
He was born to Mildrede “Jackie” Irene and Charles Robert “Bob” Oliver on February 1st, 1957 in Bloomington, IL. Jim lived and grew up in LeRoy, Illinois. He graduated from LeRoy High School with the class of 1975 and went to work at Eureka Williams. At about the age of 21 years, he became disabled and could no longer work. He learned to live with his disability the best he could and tried to stay active. He lived at Mayor’s Manor apartments in Bloomington, IL for about the last 15-20 years. Jim had a lot of friends. He liked to spend time with his friends and family. We remember Jim having a good sense of humor and a kind heart. He was always pleasant and would have done anything for us. He loved all the family gatherings where we cooked dinner and made cookies and candy together as well as going with David to Bob Evans for coffee. We will miss our loving brother Jim, his smiling face and his laughter.
He was preceded in death by his mother Mildrede Irene Oliver; his father Charles Robert Oliver; his uncle Richard Krizman; his aunt Mary Ellen Krizman and his aunt Katherine Oliver.
Jim is survived by his brother, David Robert Oliver of Bloomington, Illinois; his sister Alice Irene Kerkering of Hutto, Texas and 5 nieces and nephews.
