

Janet was born on November 16, 1937, in Peoria, the daughter of Alvin and Frances Lewis Staudenmaier. She married Gene Olsen. He preceded her in death.
Surviving are a brother, Michael (Kathy) Bachman of Bloomington; a niece, Amanda Bachman; a nephew, Lee Michael Bachman, both of Bloomington; cousins, Karen (David) Spurlock of Washington and Marjorie Geick of Metamora; five step-children, Cathleen Olsen; Barbara Wallace; David Olsen; Mark Olsen, all of Bloomington; and Barbara Olsen of Eaton, OH; an aunt, Margaret “Rita” Rosenberg of Washington; and many step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; a step son, Mike Olsen; a sister, Anna Marie Bachman; and a cousin, Larry Geick. Janet graduated from Washington High School in 1955. She joined the Bloomington Moose Lodge 745 on October 15, 1958. She was awarded the academy of friendship degree in 1961 and served as senior regent in 1964 and 1965. In 1967, she received the college of regents degree, the highest awarded by a chapter. She was the Past Star Recorder, Past Deputy Grand Report, and Meeting Coordinator. She was also involved in the Jerry Lewis MDA Telethon for many years.
Cremation has been accorded, a memorial service will be held at 11:45 a.m., Monday, January 16, 2017 at East Lawn Funeral Home. A family gathering will be held for 11 a.m. until the time of service. Burial of ashes will take place after the service in East Lawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, Bloomington Moose Charites, American Heart Association, or the Alzheimer’s Association.
