Jody Hopt, 70 of Colfax, Illinois passed away on Thursday, November 15, 2018 at 9 am at her residence. On Monday, November 19, there will be an hour long visitation starting at 3:00 at the Church of Christ in Cooksville, followed by a private family memorial service.
Jody, the daughter of Bard and Alice Givens, was born on July 1, 1948 in Bloomington, Illinois. She married Thomas Hopt on August 17, 1968. He died on April 28, 2000. Jody graduated from Bloomington High School in 1966. She was a florist and enjoyed making dried floral arrangements and selling them at local festivals during the summer and fall months. Later in life she received her CNA and worked at the Heritage Manor in Colfax.
Surviving are one daughter, Stacia Hopt of Bloomington, and two sons, Ryan (Emily) Hopt of Cooksville, and Trevor Hopt of Colfax and fiance Myka Fawbush of Rantoul. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Spencer, Sarah, Matthew, and Nolan Hopt, and one brother, Gary Givens of Springfield, Missouri. Preceding her in death was her sister, Vicki Hopper and her parents..
Memorials can be made to either Eastern McLean Co. Ambulance or the Illinois Cancer Center.
