John O Peterson

John “Jack” O. Peterson, 87 of Normal, Il passed away August 13, 2015 in Normal at Advocate BroMenn Medical Center. He was born February 1, 1928 in Marinette, WI to John Sage and Anna Catherine Peterson. He was married to Dorothy Ellen (Baldwin) September 14, 1957 and together they raised 2 children, Pam and John.

Jack was a graduate of the University of Wisconsin and an avid Badger’s fan. He was an underwriter for State Farm Insurance. He loved life and being outside, on the water sailing. He and his wife traveled throughout Europe, took cruises, and enjoyed golf with their friends. They attended First Presbyterian Church of Normal.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Peterson; children Pamela (Warren) Rosen and John (Lisa) Peterson; grandchildren Derek and Dorian Rosen and Eric, Meridith, Caroline and Halle Peterson; and his sister Betty Bruce. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial service will be held graveside at Funk’s Grove Cemetery, Ollie Addition, 7054 E 535 North Rd, McLean, IL 61754, on August 28, 2015 at 2:00pm. The Ollie Addition is past the Church, Pavilion and original portion of the cemetery. Please continue on North Road until you see the blue tent. A reception will follow in the Pavilion. In Lieu of flowers memorials can be made in Jack’s honor to the American Heart Association.
