Katherine A. Rhoades, 76, of Bloomington, formerly of Leroy, passed away at 1:08 a.m. on Saturday, February 12, 2011 at OSF Saint Joseph Medical Center in Bloomington.
She was born September 8, 1934 in Paxton, IL, daughter of John and Helen Nelson Wasson. She married Dean A. Rhoades on September 11, 1955 in Eureka, IL.
Surviving are her husband of Bloomington; two sons, Mark (Fredrica) Rhoades and Randy Rhoades, both of Missouri; two grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. Also surviving are one brother, John (Jean) Wasson of Portage, WI and two sisters, Barbara (Chuck) Ehmen of Sterling, IL and Carol (Dale) Collins of Mt. Morris, IL.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Katherine worked in sales at Bergner’s Department Store and Swiss Colony at Eastland Mall in Bloomington.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at East Lawn Funeral Home in Bloomington, where visitation will be one hour prior to services. Entombment will be at East Lawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum in Bloomington.
