Kathlyn M. Fancher Marr

Kathlyn M. Marr, 78, of Bloomington, passed away at 2:54 a.m. on Monday, August 9, 2010 at OSF ST Joseph Medical Center in Bloomington.

She was born June 12, 1932 in Springfield, IL the daughter of John Henry and Lela Miller Fancher. She married Robert Marr, Jr. on April 28, 1951 in Jacksonville, IL.

She is survived by her husband, Robert Marr, Jr. of Bloomington; three sons, Jay (Cynthia) Marr of Glen Ellyn, IL, Bradley Marr of Townshed, VT and Daniel Marr of Flora, IL. She is also survived by two grandchildren, Amanda and Robert Marr and one brother, John William( Elizabeth) Fancher of Ormond Beach, FL.

Kathlyn was preceded in death by her parents, John Henry and Lela Miller Fancher ; one sister, Genora Nesch and one brother, J.P. Hendrix.

She enjoyed working for the college of Engineering at the University of Illinois and later worked for the College of Education at Illinois State University before retiring in 1995.

After retirement, Kathlyn worked at the Rob Knight Swim America, where she worked with children who were taking swimming classes. She was also a very talented quilter and loved a variety of arts and crafts.

A Memorial service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Friday August 13, 2010 at East Lawn Funeral Home in Bloomington a visitation will be held two hours prior to services.
