He was born July 13, 1936 to Cecil W. and Dorothy M. (Stretch) Bowman in Lexington, IL. He married the love of his life Linda Phipps October 8, 1955 in Bloomington.
He is survived by his wife Linda, daughter Julie Brandt; sister Ruth Ann Wilson; grandchildren Brandi (Jason) Tuley, Megan (Bryan) Tokarski, Amber (Bryan) Bennett, Erin (Jeremy) Pinkerton, Crystal (Todd) Yacko; great-grandchildren William “Billy” Tuley, Dustin Tuley, Samantha Bennett, Jeffrey Tuley, Bryan Bennett, Jaron Pinkerton, Gannon Pinkerton, Kendall Tokarski, Brantley and Braylin Yacko ; great-great-grandchild Juliann Tuley. He is also survived by many of his Native American family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents and son Jeffrey Bowman.
Kenny graduated from Bloomington High School. He worked as a Service Technician for Sears until his retirement. He was a volunteer firefighter in Downs, and enjoyed many years donating time to decorate Dooley Park in Downs for Christmas. He enjoyed many different hobbies such as woodworking, and making crafts for family and friends. Kenny loved fishing, hunting, camping, boating and horses. He would sit and watch the humming birds on the feeders. He was very proud of the koi pond he and his son built. Kenny was very proud of himself for being 60 years old and being able to get up on water skis. More than anything else he loved his family, and he was always there to lend a helping hand to family and friends.
Visitation will be Friday January 29, 2021 12:00p.m. - 2:00p.m. at East Lawn Funeral Home, Bloomington. Funeral service will begin at 2:00p.m. Entombment to follow at East Lawn Memorial Gardens.
