

Kenneth was born August 23, 1933, in Bloomington, the son of Arthur and Hilda (Gamble) Risen. He married Beyrl Hinthorn in 1953. She preceded him in death in 2015.
Surviving are five grandchildren, Luke (Celia) Altic of Bristol, England; Abbey (Nic) Trammell of Bloomington; Emily Wishall of Saybrook; Margaret Trammell of Bloomington; and Kevin (Katie) Risen of TX; nine great-grandchildren; a very close friend, Lance (Andi) Benedict of Normal; four sisters-in-law, JoAnn (Bob) Rafferty of Bloomington; Shirley Schleeter of Lexington; Mary Hinthom of Gibson City; and Shirley Hinthom of Bloomington; and a brother-in-law, Ed (Sheila) Hinthorn of Melvin, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers; Arthur, Eugene, Lee, and Everett; and a sister, Phyllis.
Kenneth served in the Army from 1950 to 1953 in Korea. He was awarded the Korean Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, and the Good Conduct Medal. Kenneth enjoyed the outdoors. He especially enjoyed fishing. He also enjoyed being outside working on his yard. He was an avid Green Bay Packers and New York Yankee’s fan.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Evergreen Center, Heartland Manor, and Advocate Hospice for the compassion and care they gave to Kenneth.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 13, 2016 at the Towanda Community Building, 103 Jefferson Street, Towanda, IL. 61776.
