Kenneth L. Wynn, 83, of Wapella passed away at his residence and surrounded by his family on Sunday, November 4, 2023. He was born September 6, 1940 in Eureka, IL, to Lloyd and Coralene (Terven) Wynn. Kenneth married the love of his life, Rhonda Fessler on June 22, 1963.
Kenney was known for many things in his life. He was known for being hardworking, his love of watching Westerns and listening to classic country music, and for collecting antique cars. He avidly supported the Cubs and Bears from the comfort of his recliner. Kenney was also renowned for his hunting prowess–searching for his next elk or deer in the in scenic Colorado. He was a large part of his family's lives and will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him.
Surviving are his loving spouse of 60 years: Rhonda Wynn of Wapella, IL; children: Steve Wynn, Stephanie (Darrin) Glass, both of Wapella, IL; grandchildren: Jolene (Jered) Cook of Normal, IL, Meghan (Manny) Reed of Bloomington, IL; great-grandchildren: Kinley Cook, and Elizabeth Reed; and siblings: Neva Gipson of Bloomington, IL, Linda Johnson of Frankfort, KY, Art (Marsha) Wynn of Bloomington, IL, Fritz (Maggie) Wynn of Bloomington, IL, Jerry (Doris) Wynn of Galesburg, IL, Nancy (Gary) Johnson of Punta Gorda, FL, Crystal (Donald) Kirk of Downs, IL; and brother-in-law: Randy Powell of Shelbyville, KY.
He is preceded in passing by his parents: Lloyd and Coralene Wynn; sister: Melody Powell; paternal grandparents: Elzie and Iris Wynn; and maternal grandparents: Scott and Lucy Terven.
A public visitation will be held on Sunday, November 12, 2023 from 2:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. at East Lawn Funeral Home, Bloomington. Funeral service will be held on Monday, November 13, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. Entombment will follow services at East Lawn Memorial Gardens, where Kenneth will be laid to rest.
