

LeROY - Linda Lou Davis, 68, of Foley, Alabama, formally of LeRoy, died peacefully at her home on July 20, 2015 after a long and courageous five year battle with cancer. She was born on May 1, 1947 to Lester J Boaz, Sr. and Edith Cope of Holder. She attended Tri-Valley High School and shortly after began a 34 year career with State Farm Insurance in Bloomington.
Linda is survived by her husband, Jerry Davis of Foley, Alabama; daughter, Jodi Emsley of Highlands Ranch, Colorado; son, Bradley Davis of St. Louis, Missouri; and two grandchildren, Jack and Madelyn Emsley. She is survived by her brother, Charles (Sharon) Boaz of Bloomington, Illinois and her sister Phyllis Boaz, along with nieces, nephews, and many relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters LaVerne Alexander, Vera Demler Lillie, Eileen Smithson and Patty Oesch; and her brother Jim Boaz.
She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, traveling, and going to the beach. She was a wonderful cook, an artist and enjoyed making crafts. Several of her paintings were contributed to local charitable fund raising events. Always with a smile, she was a beautiful, kind, generous person who treasured her family and many friends. It is because of those things and much more, that she will truly be missed.
A celebration of her life will be held at 11:00 am on August 1, 2015 at the East Lawn Funeral Home in Bloomington, in which David O'neall will officiate. Visitation will be held two hours before the service, starting at 9:00 am.
At her request, in lieu of flowers, all contributions can be made in her name to either the Worship On The Water (P.O. Box 1123, Orange Beach, Alabama 36561), or the UAB Comprehensive Cancer Center (WTI 210, 1720 2nd Ave South, Birmingham Alabama 35294-3300).
