August 4, 1950, in Chicago, Illinois, to Louis and Susie Watson, Louis lived a life rooted in strength,
service, and deep devotion to those he loved.
A proud United States Army Veteran, Louis served his country with honor during the Vietnam War—an
experience that reflected his courage, discipline, and unwavering sense of duty. Following his military
service, he continued his commitment to serving others through over twenty years of dedicated work
with the United States Department of Justice.
On July 7, 2001, Louis married the love of his life, Ramona, and together they built a bond grounded in
love, laughter, and partnership. Family was the heart of Louis’s world. He found his greatest joy in
simply being present—sharing moments, telling stories, and creating memories that will live on through
generations.
He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife, Ramona Shaw; his children, Suzanne Shaw, Jelani
Shaw, Adam Rodriguez, Jazzmyn Samuels, and Brettania Pierce; and his treasured grandchildren,
Noemi, Naquan, Nalani, Nataia, Cali, Amaya, Tahanni, and Amerie. He is also survived by his brother,
Greg Shaw, along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends.
Louis was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Isiah Rodriguez; and his sisters, Diane Shaw and
Valerie Shaw.
A devoted husband, proud father, loving grandfather, and respected brother and friend, Louis will be
remembered not only for his service and work ethic, but for the love he gave so freely.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date in Chicago, Illinois.
