She earned her formal education in Belzonie, Mississippi in Humphrey County.
Later she moved to Bloomington, IL when she resided until her death. In Illinois, she worked for the Salvation Army Homeless Shelter and the Mitsubishi factory. She was a life-long hard worker and full of dedication. Lula also raised two daughters, Lola Latrice Harris and Tamara Devon Allen. Before the onset of her illness Lula loved traveling, enjoyed spending time with family at home, playing with Bubee the cat and eating peanut butter cups. She was also a faithful member of her church.
She was preceded in death by her parents and four siblings. She leaves to cherish her memories daughters Lola Latrice Harris (Bobby Talley) and Tamara Devon Allen, grandchildren Devin Nathaniel Allen, Danavan Kane Allen, Dante Vershaun Roberston, Thomas Michael Harris Jr., Rochelle Roberts, Deshayla Latrice Harris, Reshanae’ Devon Roberts, Fred Dixon, grandcat Zyla, seven sibilings and a host of nieces and nephews.
