

M. “Lorene” Meeker, 102, of Bloomington, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at 6:10 a.m. on Monday, May 2, 2011 at her daughter’s home in Bloomington.
We rejoice in the knowledge that after a blessed life of 102 years, she is now forever at home with her beloved Savior. Lorene was the youngest of five children, born to the late, George and Estella Sheets Arney. She married Warren Meeker, he preceded her in death on August 20, 1962.
She is survived and lovingly remembered by her daughers, Mrs. Marsha Adams and Ms. Linda Flotkoetter, both of Bloomington and six grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Lorene was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Bloomington and the Zonta Club, an organization for business women.
She first worked as a placement officer at ISU from 1929-1959. After her husband passed, Lorene took charge of operations at Meeker Auto Parts, working from 1962 to 1986.
Friends and family are invited to attend the funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, May 6, 2011 at East Lawn Funeral Home in Bloomington, where visitation will be one hour prior to services. Interment will be at East Lawn Memorial Gardens in Bloomington.
