

She was born on Sept. 15, 1927, the daughter of the late Grover C. and Edith (Morling) Pendelton. She married Lincoln E. “Pete” Goben in Gibson City, IL, and he preceded her in death.
She is survived by her son Ronald (wife Janine) Goben of Bloomington; 6 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; 1 sister Joan Welch of Belleville, IL; 1 brother Morris Pendelton of Gifford, IL; and nephews and nieces.
Besides her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a stepson James R. Goban; a granddaughter Kim Goben; and siblings, Helen Hudgens, Ruth Wills, Carol Fonger, Betty L. Smith (her twin), Raymond Pendelton, Lyle Pendelton, and Corlyn Still.
Mary, along with her husband Pete, owned Pete’s Café in Bloomington. She liked to swim at Four Seasons and loved baking. She lived in Honduras with her son Ron for about 3 years, and one of the highlights of her life was a road trip with him driving from Honduras back to Illinois.
Arrangements are under the direction of East Lawn Funeral Home, 1102 Airport Rd., Bloomington, IL. Services will be held on Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at 10 am at the funeral home, with interment following at East Lawn Memorial Gardens, Bloomington, IL.
