Mary Anne Raney

Born on February 19, 1931 in Ellsworth, daughter of Clarence and Ethel Shoemaker Graning. She married John "Jack" Marcus Raney and he preceded her in death on August 26, 1983. She was also preceded in death by their two sons, Mike and Steve Raney; two brothers, Delmar and Donald Graning and one sister, Darlene Morillo.

Surviving are daughters-in-law, Terry Raney of Normal and Mary Ann Raney of Danvers; two grandchildren, Jeremiah (Christen) Raney and Jessica (Ryan) Jason and three great-grandchildren, Owen Raney and Jack & Audrey Jo Jason.

Mary Anne first worked for her brother-in-law at Raney Termite in Normal and later was very successful sales associate working at Roland's in Bloomington for many years. After her husband Jack's passing, she moved to Florida for several years, where she also kept busy working retail and clothing department stores. Several years later, she moved back to Illinois to be near her family.

Mary Anne loved gardening and tending to her flowers and plants. She also enjoyed painting, working jigsaw puzzles and her daily walks, until she was unable. She looked most forward to her visits from the grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Donna and April for their friendship, help and support to Mary Anne.

Her memorial service will be held at 4:00 pm on Wednesday, May 6, 2026 at East Lawn Funeral Home. Cremation rites have been accorded. She will be laid to rest next to her husband at Park Lawn Cemetery in Danvers at a later date.
