Noel W. Hicks

Noel W. Hicks, 73, of Bloomington, passed away at 1:50am on Monday, May 10, 2010 at his residence, surrounded by his loved ones.

He was born December 25, 1936 in White Hall IL, son of Dewey and Kathleen McCann Hicks. He married Dorothy Printy on October 29, 1955 in White Hall, IL.

Surviving are his wife, Dorothy Hicks; his daughter, Shan Hicks; his two sons, Robb (Victoria) Hicks and Lyndall Hicks; two granddaughters, Mollie Alvis and Kathleen Hicks, one grandson, Charles Hicks and one great grandson, Gavyn.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Jean Hicks.

Noel worked as a Conductor for the railroads GM & O, ICG and AMTRAK before retiring in 1998.

He was a Boy Scout Troop Leader for the Bloomington Troop 38 and was a member of The Good Sheperd Lutheran Church in Marion, IL. Noel was an active legislative representative for the UTU Union. After retirement he enjoyed working for Mech Tech Marina at Lake of Egypt.

Memorial services will be held at 1:00pm on Friday May 14, 2010 at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Bloomington. Cremation rites have been accorded. East Lawn Funeral Home in Bloomington, IL is in charge of arrangements.
