

He was born February 13, 1937 in Farmer City, son of Elton “Bus” C. and Irene “Blondie” H. Atkinson Kirkpatrick. He married Celia Hamlin on October 18, 1956 in Las Cruces, NM.
Surviving are his wife of Saybrook; two sons, Phil (Sue) Kirkpatrick of Colorado Springs, CO and Ed (Becca) Kirkpatrick of Saybrook; two daughters, Robin Kirkpatrick of Saybrook and Carol (Mark) Woolley of Monticello. Also surviving are 27 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Merle (June) Kirkpatrick and Ed (Nancy) Kirkpatrick and one sister, Peg Boyle, all of Saybrook.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two nephews, Kevin and Lance Kirkpatrick and one brother-in-law, Dave Boyle.
Ralph served four years active duty in the United States Air Force. He was a member of the American Legion Post #427 in Saybrook and retired from the Saybrook Fire Department.
He installed floor covering and worked security at the Par-A-Dice Casino, Off Track Betting, Mistubishi Motor Manufacturing of American, McLean County Law and Justice Center and was employed by G4S, working at State Farm Park in Bloomington.
Ralph had received Special Achievement Certificates of Appreciation from the US Army Freedom Team Salute and The Joint Logistics Force 1144 for his continued support of our troops serving in the armed forces.
He was a member of Saybrook Christian Church, where funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 26, 2012. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday (May 25) also at the church. Additional visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday. Cremation rites will be accorded following services. Arrangements have been entrusted to East Lawn Funeral Home, Bloomington, IL.
