

Robert D. Bicknell, of Bloomington, died Sunday, December 7, 2014 at home. He was born August 24, 1930 in Bloomington, IL, son of James and Arminda (LaFever) Bicknell.
Surviving him are two sons, Rodney (Cathy) Bicknell of Leroy and Robert (Kathy) Bicknell of Bloomington; a daughter Sharon Roland of Bloomington; seven grandchildren, Sean (Kristi) Balonis, Amanda Balonis, both of Bloomington, Bobi (Matt) Branham of Bloomington, Kami Bicknell of Bloomington, Amy Bicknell of Chicago, Kelly Bicknell of Denver, CO and Paul Bicknell of North Carolina, and five great-grandchildren, Austin, Aija, Jordan, Joey and Phoenyx. Also surviving are one sister Lourstine Gaffney of Leroy, two brothers Donald (Pat) Bicknell of Stanford and Tom Bicknell of Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Mildred in 2011, sisters Evelyn Mydler, Geraldine Butuynski, Dorothy Kohl, Maxine Roberts and brothers Clifford Bicknell John Bicknell, James Bicknell and two infant siblings.
He proudly served in the US Army from 1947-1950.
Robert worked as a self employed auto mechanic for many years. He was a life member of VFW Post #454, 32nd degree Mason, twice past master of Bloomington Lodge 43 and former cast member of the American Passion Play.
In keeping with his wishes, there will be no services. Cremation rites have been accorded. East Lawn Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. The family would like to thank the staff at Advocate BroMenn for the great care they took of him.
