Robert G. Edgington, 80, of Alamo, TX, formerly of Covell, IL, passed away on Monday, March 21, 2011 at his home in Texas.
He was born September 1, 1930 in Downs, IL, son of Noble and Cora Alvis Edgington. He married Juanita A. Petri on January 25, 1958 in Bloomington.
Surviving are his wife of Texas; two daughters, Lori (Greg) Snodgrass of Hudson and Becky Wheeler , one son Jim Edgington and four grandchildren, Ciara, Nicolle, Brandon and Samantha Snodgrass.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Kathryn Orr and Clara Rettike.
Robert worked as a truck driver for various trucking companies in the Bloomington-Normal area.
He was a member of Resurrection Catholic Church in Alamo, TX. He was also a member of Teamsters Union Locals #722 and #26.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, March 30, 2011 at East Lawn Funeral Home in Bloomington, where visitation will be one hour prior to services. Entombment will be at East Lawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum following services.
He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be greatly missed by friends and family.
