He was born May 6, 1942, to Edwin and Doris (Turner) Reinmann in Streator, Illinois. On June 16, 1968, Roger married the love of his life, Joyce Gohlinghorst, in Galesburg. Together they had a life full of love and laughter living in Streator many years, and in Normal after retirement.
He loved his country and served proudly in the United States Army for three years. Upon return, Roger graduated from Illinois State University, where he met Joyce. He was always a Redbird! He also followed his other favorite teams, the Cubs/Sox/Bulls/Bears/Illini, through the highs and lows.
Most of Roger’s professional career was with Streator National Bank. He also owned many rental properties through the years, always dedicated to providing nice, affordable housing to hundreds of renters. He served on several boards in Streator including for Streator High School, United Way, Streator Unlimited, and YMCA.
He treasured time with his children, following their sports and academic activities. He enjoyed traveling, first with his young family, and after retirement with Joyce. He loved their time in Door County and Orange Beach with good friends. Roger was always an athlete, first playing football at Woodland High School, through later years of jogging, racquetball, bicycling, and pickleball where he was known as The Smasher. Finally, he was proud to follow all his grandchildren in their activities.
A first-generation college graduate, Roger set an example for his children and grandchildren that hard work and education are the path to success, and he was so proud of all their accomplishments.
