Shirley was a hard working woman, who is best remembered for her kind and caring soul. She was a private investigator for 18 years, before working at a non-profit agency as a home care assistant until her retirement. Shirley loved spending time with her friends and family and keeping them on their toes with her quick wit and sense of humor.
Shirley is survived by sister-in-law, Vivian Thomas of Bloomington; several cousins; great-nieces and great-nephews; great great-nieces and great great-nephews; and her very good friend, Carol (Terry) Renfrow of Minonk.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Art and Ethel Thomas; husband, Dale L. Sutter; son, Bradley D. Brewer; brother, Arthur E. Thomas; and niece Cheryl Thomas.
Cremation rites have been accorded with East Lawn Funeral Home, Bloomington. Services are planned for a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Compassus Hospice.
